Another Signature Week for Pro Volleyball Federation

Record Numbers for League, Founders hand off Operations as League Grows

COLUMBUS, OH / FRISCO, TX —Pro Volleyball Federation’s historic launch has proven that women’s professional volleyball in North America is positioned to become a fan-favorite sports league and another crown jewel in the women’s sports movement.

The League will make its debut in its fifth market this Thursday night when the Vegas Thrill host the Omaha Supernovas in their home opener. During the first six matches of the season, an incredible 51,000+ fans have attended. More than 532,000 fans have viewed matches on Pro Volleyball Federation’s YouTube Channel, with 2.5 million Instagram impressions over just the first two calendar weeks of the season.

"These exciting first weeks of Pro Volleyball Federation competition have been the culmination of years of hard work by so many outstanding people who are dedicated to making professional women’s volleyball a reality in the United States," said Pro Volleyball Federation co-founder Dave Whinham. “Pro Volleyball Federation is poised for greatness. Along with our franchise partners, players, fans, and communities, we have been able to build something that will captivate sports fans throughout the world for many years to come,” co-founder Stephen Evans added.

With the successful launch of the season, Pro Volleyball Federation will now transition from a start-up, Founder-led league to one that is team-led. Similar to other professional leagues, governance will be handled through its Board of Directors, composed principally of team representatives and a team operators committee. The League will continue to be led operationally by CEO Jen Spicher and the league office staff.

The League Board issued the following statement: “As Founders, Dave and Stephen have done a tremendous job of getting Pro Volleyball Federation to this exciting point and we know they will continue to be trusted advocates for the League and the sport of women’s volleyball.”

Exciting action continues this week as the Vegas Thrill host the Omaha Supernovas Thursday night at 10:00 pm EST, followed by the Orlando Valkyries hosting the Columbus Fury Friday evening at 7:00 pm EST. Currently, the Atlanta Vibe stands on top of the leader board with a 4-1 record, followed closely by Grand Rapids Rise.
