CECILE REYNAUD

Vice President, Volleyball Operations



Dr. Cecile Reynaud serves as Vice President, Volleyball Operations for Pro Volleyball Federation where she oversees a number of aspects for the league, including rules of play, officiating, coach recruitment, international and college relations, and other key areas.

A legend in the sport with tremendous experience as an administrator in addition to being a Hall of Fame coach, Dr. Reynaud spent 26 years as head women’s volleyball coach at Florida State University where she won 635 matches, seven conference championships, and three conference coach of the year honors. She was also a faculty member in Sport Management for fifteen years. She retired from a full-time position at FSU in 2015.  

During her distinguished career Dr. Reynaud held various national, international, coaching, and administrative positions with USA Volleyball, serving as Board Chair from 2018-2020. She has coaching experience at the World University Games, as a Junior National Team Head Coach, in the USA Volleyball High Performance Championships, and in the FIVB World Grand Prix. She was the Deputy Competition Manager for Volleyball at the 1996 Olympic Games in Atlanta and served as the Head of Delegation for the USA Volleyball Women’s Sitting Team at the 2012 Paralympic Games and for the USA Volleyball Junior Boys Team at the 2015 World Championship. 

Dr. Reynaud was honored in 2016 with the “Friar Award,” USA Volleyball’s highest award. She has served as President of the American Volleyball Coaches Association and was inducted into the AVCA Hall of Fame in 2017. She was inducted into the FSU Athletics Hall of Fame in 2009 and Missouri State University Women’s Athletics Hall of Fame in 1983. She was a founding board member and President of WeCOACH and is currently serving on the USA Volleyball Foundation Board as chair of the Development Committee. She has published several books, including She Can Coach!, The Volleyball Coaching Bible Volumes I & II, Coaching Volleyball: Technical and Tactical Skills, Winning Ways of Women Coaches, and numerous volleyball DVDs.  

Dr. Reynaud graduated from Missouri State University and earned her master’s degree and Ph.D. while coaching at Florida State.
