FRED SHAFFER
Vice President, Communications
Fred Shaffer serves as Vice President of Communications for Pro Volleyball Federation. In his role, Fred provides communications support for Pro Volleyball Federation teams, including acting as a liaison in that area between the teams and the League. Fred also has a specific focus on League and team broadcasts, working with the League’s national broadcast partners and the teams to ensure each is prepared with the assets and information required to bring the broadcasts to air. Fred also works with the Pro Volleyball Federation teams to ensure their local broadcasts meet all League standards.
Fred brings more than 30 years of broadcast experience to Pro Volleyball Federation. Fred previously led the communications team for the Indoor Football League’s Frisco Fighters, while also overseeing all local radio and TV broadcasts for the team. At the same time, Fred also oversaw the online streaming broadcasts for the entire Indoor Football League and its teams.
Fred has spent the past 35 years in the broadcast industry, mainly in radio, and has done it all. Prior to his current position, Fred worked as the Operations Director for a broadcast group in Central Ohio. His experience in all facets communications includes media relations, copywriting, ad production, and social media. He and Dave Whinham also produce a weekly radio program called The Remedy Radio, which is syndicated on stations throughout Ohio.
Fred grew up in Clintonville, OH, and now resides in Lewis Center, OH, with his wife of 30 years Roxanne, 3 daughters, and a male Australian Shepherd. They all enjoy boating, camping, hiking, and family game nights.
