Director, Ticket Operations

Respected ticketing industry leader Matt DiFebo joined Pro Volleyball Federation in June as its Director, Ticket Operations. In that role, Matt is tasked with overseeing the League’s ticket operations for its championship weekend, but also with assisting teams in planning, launching, and executing their local market ticket operations.

Matt is the president and founded FanSummit, his latest cutting-edge and innovative venture in the sports and entertainment industry. FanSummit provides highly focused, customized and strategic revenue solutions and expert consulting services to collegiate and professional sports organizations and a wide-variety of entertainment companies.

Matt currently serves on the faculty of Stetson University in DeLand, FL, as an Assistant Professor of Practice and Director of Sport Business in the school’s highly regarded School of Business Administration. Previously, he founded what is now Learfield Amplify in 2011. The ticket sales company partnered with more than thirty-five collegiate partners in his five years of leadership and generated over $350 million in ticket related revenue during that time period. He is widely-known as the nation’s leading expert in collegiate ticket sales, customer service and ticket operations. Matt has been recognized as an innovator and pioneer who has revolutionized the industry and “invented the trend” in regards to how college athletic departments can maximize revenue from ticket sales.

On January 1, 2011, his collegiate ticket sales consulting company, The DiFebo Company, was acquired by IMG College. As a part of the acquisition, DiFebo joined IMG College which, within eighteen months, formed a joint venture with Learfield Sports to create IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions, now Learfield Amplify. The company’s valuation at the time of the joint venture was more than $24 million and quickly grew to the industry’s largest collegiate ticket sales outsourcing entity with more than 200 employees that operated at more than 70 university athletic departments across the national landscape. In 2012, Matt received the “Bill Battle Entrepreneurial Award” given by IMG College to recognize the company’s most accomplished executives. Under his leadership, IMG Learfield Ticket Solutions was voted “The Best Organization to Work for In Sports” by TeamWork Online in 2013.

Prior to launching his company in 2009, DiFebo spent nearly five years at the University of Central Florida as an Associate Athletic Director where he developed his ticket sales and customer support collegiate model.  He helped UCF football season-ticket sales increase by over 13,000 at its peak and $4.5 million in annual ticket revenue. His proactive ticket sales and service model also produced over $3 million in additional donations to the UCF Athletic Association. Matt’s pioneering efforts and track record of unprecedented success ignited the emerging trend that has revolutionizing collegiate athletics ticket sales, customer service and fan relations.

Matt, who earned his bachelor’s and master’s degrees from the University of Florida, has built his expertise and experience over the years working for the University of Central Florida Athletic Association, the NBA’s Seattle Sonics and WNBA’s Seattle Storm, as well as the Tampa Bay Rays.
