– Former Nebraska great to assist in recruiting America’s best volleyball players to join Pro Volleyball Federation in 2024 –
Columbus, OH / Frisco, TX – Kenzie Maloney, a two-time national champion and one of the most decorated Nebraska Cornhuskers in the history of its storied women’s volleyball program has joined Pro Volleyball Federation as a Player Relations Associate, the League announced Tuesday.
Maloney adds to the list of talented and distinguished athletes who have joined Pro Volleyball Federation to help make it the premier women’s professional volleyball league in North America. As a Player Relations Associate, Maloney will help recruit her peers to play in Pro Volleyball Federation during the inaugural 2024 season and beyond.
“This is such a great opportunity for American volleyball players,” Maloney said of joining Pro Volleyball Federation. “The fact that this League is taking this so seriously and it’s the real deal makes me so excited for the athletes and also for people who love volleyball in the United States.”
Maloney joins other high-profile American volleyball players who have previously signed on as Player Relations Associates, including Jenna Rosenthal (Marquette), Morgan Hentz (Stanford), Ronika Stone (Oregon), and Tori Dilfer Stringer (Louisville). To date the League has received commitments from nearly 100 high-caliber American and international volleyball stars to play in Pro Volleyball Federation in 2024.
“Just the momentum around the League is absolutely incredible,” Maloney continued. “Not only are the athletes super pumped about the opportunity, but the soon-to-be fans are just as excited. A pro volleyball league in the U.S. has been needed and wanted for quite some time now, so it’s really cool to see the enthusiasm and the eagerness across the board, whether that’s coming from a player or a spectator.”
Maloney is a highly-accomplished star as a collegiate player, winning two national championships while at Nebraska. She became the first Husker in school history, along with Mikaela Foecke, to appear in four straight NCAA Final Fours, and the All-American left Nebraska with a 21-2 career record in NCAA Tournament matches while having played in more postseason sets and matches than any other player in Husker history.
Pro Volleyball Federation teams will begin signing players in May 2024. Head coaches in the League will select their own rosters that can include both American and international players. The League will also hold a College Draft in November for those athletes who will be wrapping up their college careers this fall.
In addition to the four announced markets for the 2024 season – Grand Rapids, Omaha, Atlanta, and Columbus – Pro Volleyball Federation will soon be making announcements to introduce the final slate of markets to make up its teams for the inaugural 2024 season.
